Keith just reminded me that today is Sandy Koufax’s 80th birthday (Thanks, Keith). Considering everything, he could probably still strike out the opposing pitcher. 🙂
Happy Birthday, Mr. K.

A modern day recluse in the vein of J.D. Salinger!

I think he had a better curve than Salinger.

Hey, what do you think of Koufax as a LOOGY? I mean, sure he can’t go seven anymore, but I’d like to see him break off that hook against Anthony Rizzo.

Koufax as a LOOGY. Now there’s some marketing savvy I would pay 4 dollars for my bleachers seats.

How I would like to go through a whole season watching Koufax and Drysdale.

V,
I didn’t know that it was Sandy Braun’s birthday (I think that name that name is catchier than Sandy Koufax, and, of course, that was his original first name), but I’m shocked that you forgot about it, because isn’t he more or less your favorite major league player of all time? I mean, V, you forgetting Koufax’s birthday is kind of like Schroeder forgetting Beethoven’s birthday, isn’t it?
Anyway, I heartily endorse what you said. Happy 80th birthday, Mr. Koufax. And many more.

Sometimes I have trouble remembering my own birthday. I’ve gone way beyond senior moments all the way to senior hours.
